dax formulas vs. regular calculated formula in pivot table

Hallo. What's the difference between a DAX formula and a calculated formula in a regular pivot table? Seems the same to me....

    Hello,

DAX has a lot of functions that are not available in Excel. Also, DAX formulas can be used not only for calculated columns, but for measures that aggregate data. Take a look at Rob Collie's book "Dax Formulas for Power Pivot". It's a fantastic resource for DAX and a Power Pivot tutorial all in one.

    cheers, teylyn
