Scatterplot with time data points on X and Y axis

I want to create a scatterplot with time data points (date is not used). I have 2 variables: Block Hours and Duty Time.

When I plot it in Excel I get the 2 variables plotted as 2 series, rather than as an X-Y scatterplot.

If I change the cell format it changes the time data. Currently, the format is custom to allow for mathematical operations on the data. The data is extracted from a program and subsequently reformatted.

So, 2 questions:
1. How can I plot Block Hours and Duty Time on a scatterplot? Really doing the exercise to get a slope for the line.
2. How to properly format the cell.

If you clear A1 excel will make a better try at guessing your data.

With both columns having a descriptive header excel assumes 2 series with simply 1 to n increments on the x axis.

You could also use the Select data dialog to explicitly select what data is to be used for x and y values.
