Copy/Paste chart and update data

I have a worksheet with data and three charts made from that data.
I need to be able to copy the data and the charts onto the same sheet and have the charts update automatically when I make changes to the copied data. The problem is, the charts still reference the old data. I know it is because the chart uses the "$" symbol to keep the cell the same, but as far as I can tell this can't be removed when selecting the chart data. Why does excel allow you to copy cell with formulas and update them automatically and not charts?

I've seen multiple blogs/tutorials that show how to do this onto a different sheet, but nothing for copying the data onto the same sheet.
So far the only way I can see to do it is to go into the chart and change the reference data manually. Is there any way to have excel do it automatically?

Since you are working with Excel 2003 you don't have Excel tables, so you are going to have to do this the hard way. Replace the fixed ranges for each series with a named dynamic range. For information on setting up ranges see this article: http://www.utteraccess.com/wiki/inde...Dynamic_Ranges.
