    Cool Traffic Light Chart

    Hello,

I am looking to make a simple traffic light chart that would display performance levels in my business. For example, see my worksheet with the debtor days example. If the value entered in B5 is more than 60, the performance is bad and the light should turn red. If the debtor days are between 46 and 59, the light should be yellow and if the days are less than 45, the light should be green.

Could someone please put this together for me?

LMK if you have any more questions!

    Thanks,
    Yorke

    Re: Traffic Light Chart

    setup three rules
    one for each colour

    for 2007, 2010 or 2013 excel version
    Conditional Formatting

    Highlight applicable range >>

select the range you want to colour

Home Tab >> Styles >> Conditional Formatting
New Rule >> Use a formula to determine which cells to format
Edit the Rule Description: Format values where this formula is true:

    =$B$5 < 46

Format… [Number, Font, Border, Fill] GREEN
choose the format you would like to apply when the condition is true
    OK >> OK

REPEAT the above for the following formulas

    =$B$5>=46
    Yellow

    =$B$5 > 60
    RED

then you have to order the rules - so that the RED is at the top - using the arrows
    and stop if true

    Re: Traffic Light Chart

Thanks for your help so far!

See the attached image - is it possible to insert the formatting into an image like that?

Would be very nice if possible!

    Thanks,
    Yorke

    Re: Traffic Light Chart

    Hello
One way by using some pasted clip art on the data points. See the attached file example. Note, however, if you resize the chart you';ll also have to adjust the size of the light images.

Hope it gives you a few ideas.

*Note by changing the colour properties of the Traffic Light Stack to a monochrome image, you can do away with the 'Grey' series on the chart.
