    Pivot table constantly expanding

I have a pivot table with two levels in Row Labels.

We change the filters often in that pivot table. Every time we change some of the entries are expanded. That's annoying. I don't want the pivot table to expand rows unless I manually expand them.

    Is that possible?

Also, is it possible to do COLLAPSE ENTIRE FIELD to ALL the pivot tables in the excel?

    Thanks

If you go to pivot table options, in the layout and format tab, atthe bottom you can uncheck, "Autofit column widths on update."

Sorry I thought you were talking about the expanding columns, not rows. A pivot table is going to show all of the rows that are related to your search. I guess you could filter to show only the top 10 items, then the number of rows would stay static.

I think you can group the data.

Can you upload a sample sheet?

Uploading a sample won't help, since I think that this happens when the EXTERNAL DATA is being refreshed and a new data is coming to the pivot table.

Not sure what you mean by grouping the data..
