How do I "clump" together columns contained in my chart?

For example, I have Monday through Sunday on the x-axis, and for each day of the week there corresponds 10 possible y-values (the values that make up the columns).

If you take a look at my chart, you'll see that for y-values equal to 0, I have used #N/A so that they aren't plotted.

Is it possible to cluster all columns in the chart so that Monday, Tuesday, etc. are segregated along the horizontal axis? Even if I could add a tick mark at each end of the cluster that makes up a day, it would be visually more appealing.

    Thanks!Capture.PNG

You should be able to apply tickmark and even gridlines to the chart.

On the Sheet2 is an alternative layout of data. Using stacked column with data filtered to omit missing data.

When I format the x-axis I am able to add major gridlines, which breaks the days into their own respective "columns."

Is it possible to accentuate the these "columns" with shadowing, color fill, etc. ?

you could use a dummy series but the chart would need to be 2d and all the data except the dummy series would need to be on the secondary axis.

That's pretty nifty, but I would like to keep it 3D.

    Thanks!

Then only option is to make the chart transparent and use shapes behind the chart.
The shapes will need to be move if the chart layout changes.
