excel filter no boxes are shown to check or uncheck

I'm not sure how but for some reason even if I unfilter everything and refilter when I select a column to choose a filter there are multiple values that could be checked but the boxes are simply missing. I have tried to save and restart excel. Any ideas?

How big is your data? I believe there are rows limitation with autofilter.

    Hey,

Try this....you can just copy the same sheet (by right click on sheet tab) where you are getting this issue and then delete the original one and before this pls save a copy of workbook.

Its every tab in the entire worksheet and I tried that already didn't work. Not sure but when I opened the original file again after doing that it fixed itself. But why did it do that in the first place though?

Ok....what is the size of your workbook and how many worksheets are there....is there anything strange like size....??

11000 rows columns A:S, its not a situation were some of the data is missing and thus only part of the values are populated if that is were you were going with it. Its a situation where is I only had three rows and three columns if I choose column 1 and tried to filter on row 1 whatever the value it wouldn't be possible without the check box beside the value. The checkbox is what is missing.

Not possible to upload unfortunately but since it fixed itself I guess I will just wait until it does it again. Thanks all. Marking rep and solved.

11,000 rows are too much for autofilter to extract each unique value.. Would Advanced Filter be an alternative?

I can put a filter on a much larger list that 11000 and have done so without this issue. Plus excel will tell you that not all values are loaded because of a size that is too large but that is not my issue. I think you misunderstand. Here is the best way to show you what I am seeing.
