Question Plotting Vertical Lines on chart at given 'Time Values'

The enclosed excel ‘ChartSAMPLE’ is about plotting charts of intra-day quotes from Google finance.
At sheet RTG, the col W & X contains ‘series 1’ and ‘series 2’ resp. which have a calculated ‘Time’ data and it will be DIFFERENT (changing) everyday.
I wish to plot ‘vertical lines’ on the chart at those times from W and X col.
The vertical lines for values in col W (series 1) should be bigger than the vertical lines for values in col X.
Can someone please help me for the same ?

I'd add two data series, based on columns Y and Z. In Y2 formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

copied one right (to Z) and down to the end of data

both series plotted on main axis as markers only (no interconnecting lines)
both with added vertical error bars
    play with bar height - i proposed 10 for W (now Y) and 7.5 for X.

Once done - remove also markers (but not series!).

    Dear Kaper ,

Thanks a lot for the solution.

However, I have NOT understood how to do the following :

    1. both series plotted on main axis as markers only (no interconnecting lines)
    2. both with added vertical error bars
    3. Once done - remove also markers (but not series!)

I am very sorry to trouble you again, but I am a begainer in excel charting (and sorry for my poor English too)

Re: Plotting Vertical Lines on chart at given 'Time Values'

    1) a) select the graph, right click on it, select edit data from pop-up menu, add series
    b) right click on this new series, select format series from the pop-up, select primary axis, selcet line type as none, select marker as either default one or a custom one.
    2) select the series, from ribbon - chart tools - layout card select Error Bars - more error bar options and do all formatting (constant value, positive (upper) only, line color and thickness etc.
    3) right click on this new series, select format series from the pop-up, select markers as none

Everything except point 3 has been done in the file attached to previuos post.

    Dear Kaper,

Thanks. With such precise explaination, I could get it done.

It was a great 'learning' for me.

    Dear Kaper,

Is it possible to 'name' those vertical Error Bars / lines so as to see their names on chart ?

Re: Plotting Vertical Lines on chart at given 'Time Values'

Not really sure hao yo plan to have them inserted.
The graph is in my opinion already cluttered.

    Two main opioins:
    - Try to use labels (at points not error bars)
You can have points on some specific height not just 0 - say 7.5 and 10 for second series, and have wertical error bars only on negative side.
    - Use XY Chart Labeller - an add-in from Rob Bovey: http://www.appspro.com/Utilities/ChartLabeler.htm

Try both and share knowledge which worked better for you.
