    Adding 2 Columns in Pivot Table to create new Column

    Hello,

    I have some raw data in Excel that I need to summarize (Figure 1) as shown my pivot table (Figure 2). I then need to add “ADDISON” and “BARBARA” together in the pivot table (Figure 3) so that I can graph the data as shown (Figure 4). How do I add the “ADDISON +BARBARA” in the actual pivot table?

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi, and welcome to the forum.

    Why not add Addison & Barbara to two new columns in the Data.

    Please note pictures ared rarely much use. We prefer to see the actual workbook - see guidance in forum rules.

    I can't just add a column to the data because I need to filter the chart by date and row.

    Hi,

    Not sure why adding a column to a database would preclude filtering the data, but romperstomper has given you another suggestion.

    You can create a calculated item (not calculated field) that adds those two items together.
