Day/time against temperature

Hi

I want to plot date/time on the x axis and temperature on the y axis. For example plot a point for each hour for 7 days but show the actual day and hour on the x axis?

This sound very simple but for some reason my linear graph isn't showing correctly as if the chart has took the mean hour value for that day or something. The x axis only shows one value per day where infact it should show 24hours for 7 days.

Any thoughts on how and where I am going wrong?

I have found what I was doing wrong. The x axis was defined by date instead of text!!!

If you want the data points spread out according to the actual time values, you should use an XY Scatter chart. A line chart doesn't recognize fractions places all data for a date in one horizontal position (dates are the integer part and times are the fractional part of a date-time).
