I want to draw the line chart of dates on x-axis but my dates are not at regular interval. Please let me know if we can draw the chart with the irregular intervals on scale and all the dates that I needed will be visible. The date should be on time scale means there will not be equal gap in between the dates of unequal interval and equal interval. For eg, May 1 and MAY 5 have less space in between than May 6-May 15. I would be highly obliged if you can solve this problem.

Please post a sheet showing a sample of the data that you want to chart. It'll make it easier at this end...

If your dates are stored as dates (and not text strings that look like dates), it should be as easy as formatting the horizontal axis to be a date axis rather than a text axis (help file for Excel 2010 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...254.aspx?CTT=1).

It can be done by hitting the Go Advanced button, then the Manage attachments button and then uploading your sheet.

Yes, I can do this too but I don't want the extra dates. I just want the dates that are in my data. Is it possible?
If I understand what you are trying to do, I think you want to take Glenn Kennedy's solution, hide the horizontal axis labels, then use the "arbitrary axis" technique to create a new axis (http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ArbGridLabel.html)

If you do not want to follow Mr Shorty's advice and work your waythrough the tutorial on Jon Peltier's excellent web site, then I think that is the only other possibility for you.
