Reverse Order of Y Axis...keep x axis the same

So I am trying to chart a series of revenue data. Currently, when I select the data and make it into a bar graph, it plots the data from smallest to largest on the y-axis. Instead, I want it to plot the data from largest to smallest on the y-axis.

When I click on "Categories in reverse order" it flips the y axis revenue figures...but also then sticks the x-axis at the top instead of leaving it at the bottom...how do I make it stay at the bottom? Is this possible in Excel 2013?

    Thanks,
    Dom

Assuming 2013 is similar to earlier versions, somewhere in the format axis dialog should also be a "x axis crosses at" parameter. Set to "max value" or some other suitable value that will put the axis at the bottom.

What about the Series Data? Is it sorted Smallest to Largest? If yes, please SORT it Largest to Smallest and try.

Re: Reverse Order of Y Axis...keep x axis the same

    Thanks for the thoughts.

I don't think 2013 is similar to prior versions. I tried looking for "x axis crosses over" parameter and its not in 2013. I saw that in earlier versions and Google'ing this issue led me to those prior versions, where it could be done. Now it appears that's gone in 2013...hoping there's another way.

Yes I could sort it, but I'de prefer not to. The series data in the graph is a subset of a wider range of data that is sorted
    separately.

    All further thoughts appreciated.

I know that searching the help files can be a challenge (it seems they don't have a very good search engine), but this one clearly shows, in the format axis dialog (should be the same dialog you used to select the "values in reverse order" option) a

    "Horizontal axis crosses at:

    automatic
    value of
    maximum axis value

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...320.aspx?CTT=1

If I understand what is going on, you should just need to select the appropriate option in this dialog.

Sigh...sometimes a little help goes a long way...iono why, but every time I tried to fix this, I couldn't see it...at least now I can lol
