    Pivot Table Challenged

    All,

I am having difficulty creating a pivot chart from the attached workbook. On "sheet1" I created a quick and dirty chart plotting wheelspace temperatures (TTWS1AO, etc) populated from "Data" over time. This shows all the temperatures for a specific gas turbine I am monitoring. Unfortunately, it is too busy and hard to follow overlapping series of information. The "data" is rendered from an output program from my customer.

In an attempt to create a Pivot Chart, I copied the information from "data" and transposed it onto "Test", flipping the rows and columns. However, I cannot create and adequate chart.

My goal is to have a pivot chart show I can compare any select sets of data from "test" worksheet.
    Best Regards,

    Jason Hampton

I believe you did the right thing by transposing the data. To re-create the chart you had as a pivot chart, you should select all of your (transposed) data. Create the Pivot Chart (make sure the Chart type is Line). Have PI Tag as the 'Axis Fields' and then just click on any of the PI Tags you want in the chart (these should then show up in the Values section). The Values field should be added to the Legend Fields area automatically.

    Pauley,

I appreciate your response. I've tried it and am batting zero. If it's not too much trouble can you please modify the original? Then repost it? I would really appreciate it. The more I try this, the more confused I become.

    Thanks in advance.

Sure. I'd be curious to know what step I left off or where the confusion was. In the file I have only selected the TTWS1F01, TTWS2F02, and CTD.

    Pauley,

Thanks for the follow up. I am comparing the two charts on different screens (yours and mine) in an attempt to determine where I went wrong.
