Query Error - Due to Date

I am extracting data from Ms-Access (Access linked to Oracle) through Excel however, facing issues when I select "date as parameter". For more details, when I edit query in MS-Access and change date in criteria pane using #5/1/2012# format, i get the right data. However, when I set a parameter and then use eithe same date format or different format, always getting error that "Invalid Month".


It is ORA-01843: not a valid month error. I googled and got to know that many ppl having this issue
Any suggestion ? If further info needed, please advise.
