Can a query reference another query or table?

Hello, I have a query & one table that cannot be joined because the account number format in the query is ex. 123456 & the table 021000123456. I've tried

but it doesn't work... I've attempted to format the data in query one so it can match the format in the table but that didn't go anywhere...

How about creating a new field in your second table and doing an update query on the long text to trim it down to something the first table can link to?
I'm thinking an update query of Right([FieldName],6) and then you are on your way...

Does that make sense to you?
