Link Excel Information with Access Database

I am a new Access user using MS Office 2007. I was wondering if it is possible to generate a database based on data within excel.

Example: I have a spreadsheet that calculates averages of the information put. I would like to create a database that is fed the excel information and stores it based on the product lot number (included in spreadsheet).

Is this possible to do?
