Hi all,
I tried linking an excel file to Access but i must've pressed the wrong option so I believe my excel file was replaced.
I can't find the excel file anywhere (was on a USB).
Does anyone know if i can get it back?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
What you have described is not possible, so something else must have happened.
Can you tell us step-by-step what you did to try to 'link' the Excel file to an Access DB?

So in Access I press external data->excel->browser (clicked the excel file)-> ticked 'export data with formatting and layout'-> ok
I think it showed up with 'there's already a file with this name' and clicked replace.
When i went back to my usb the excel file was gone and nothing would open in access.
OK - well, it does sound as if you have overwritten a file.
Linking is not the same as exporting.

It's a shame that the file is on a USB, as there will be no way back (that I know of).
All good. Just recovered a recent version of it.
Thanks for the help.
