    Note pad txt file to ms word letter conversion

    I am attaching here with my sample txt file in which req is that

    msg to: Abc
    msg to :cde

    like wise so many records are there in my orignal file
    so what i want is that separate letter can be genarate from my this txt file by name as abc ,cde as document name


    important thing is that a have format already designed so like mail merge this code should ask about my ms word letter and after browsing the letter it opens the letter and where ever i put cursor and enter it start writing on letter and genrate as many letters as msg to : Abd ,cde...as so on are there

    where i put cursor and enter the

    ################ can be used as sperator for genaration of letters ..it was all my thinking ,rest you all are experts and know better than me than how it can be done better

    Is it that much diff-it can be done through importing the txt file to excel then break it in letters using # as seprater

    just macro devolopers can assist i think

    Its being two to three days and my threat i still open....but that is not a problem,problem is that i havnt got the solution/suggestion yet...experts you can devolope any code i knw..plz help me

    You are your own worst enemy! You are impatient and your frequent posts both here and in your other threads give the impression to anyone who doesn't actually read the thread that you're already being given plenty of help. Some of the contributors here are reluctant to butt in on a thread in which the amount of activity (i.e. the post count) suggests help is already being given.

    As for your data, Word has no tools to take such a file and turn it into separate documents. Some programming would be required. You mention mailmerge. How was this text file generated? If it came from a Word mailmerge, it would be far simpler to use one of the splitter macros that have already been written (do a web search) to split the Word mailmerge document than to take your text file, re-import it into Word, then parse it for splitting. In other words, you seem to be making work that you now want someone else to do for you.

    This is not a free coding forum for impatient people who don't take the time to learn to properly use the tools they already have and who do not take the time to see what other tools have already been developed to address their needs.

    IMHO you're going about this task entirely the wrong way. Since you want the output in Word, why not automate Word from Excel and produce the documents directly? Amongst other things, that means you could use a template that allows the standard text to be stored there instead of having to be hard-coded in the macro and allows you to use a table to which you can add rows for holding the customer's variable data. As it is, if you open the notepad output in Word and use anything other than a fixed-width font none of your tabular data will align properly.

    Alternatively, you may want to try one of the Many-to-One Mail Merge add-ins, from:
