    VBA book?

    Hi,

I thought to buy a VBA book to learn to make macros in Excel.

    I have couple of questions

    1) Did VBA change from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007. If, then how much? I mean that would buying VBA book for Excel 2003 help, even as I have Excel 2007?

    2) What book do you recommend for me? I found "Excel 2007 VBA Programmer's Reference", but it will be released in a couple of months, is there anything I should buy today?

    Hello Jaymond Flurrie,

VBA is no different than other software. It gets updated with each new release of Windows. I don't know of anyone who compiles all the differences between the new and old versions. It isn't really necessary. Once you have a solid understanding of the language, you can spot the differences quickly and easily.

Buy a book or two that teach you the basics of VBA and make use of these news groups to help answer any questions you have. By the time Excel 2007 is released, you'll be prepared to work with the old or new versions.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

I have already Excel 2007, so that is why I thought that whether I should wait until some more books are released, or if there is already a good book to learn VBA programming.

Is step-by-step Excel 97 still good enough, or is it too old?
