    Auto Linking

    Hi all,

I have a problem that I don't think can be solved but I will post it anyway. I will use real examples of what I am trying to achieve, so here goes.

    I have a workbook with numerous worksheets labelled alphabetically. Each sheet will have cells which contain a Tool listing with; Tool number (ie; F1), Customer name (ie; Kosdown) and Tool description (ie; GE Money Folder). Here is a shortened example of what might be listed in sheet F;

Cell A1: F1-Kosdown- GE Money Folder
Cell A2: F2-Kosdown- SPC Header Card
Cell A3: F3-Digital House- Look Software Bus. Cards
Cell A4: F4-MJ Printing- Just Jeans Tags

I will only be using column A in each sheet and each sheet may use anywhere up to 40 rows, each row listing one tool as above.
As there will be multiple tools catalogued for each customer I will also have worksheets labelled Kosdown, Digital House, MJ Printing etc.

Now here is my question. Is there any way that when a new tool is listed (for example sheet F, F1-Kosdown- GE Money Folder) that it will also automatically list itself in the sheet which is labelled with that customers name given that any formula to do so would have to identify the customer name from within the listing?

I hope I have been clear enough. JLB.

hi, JLB, can you post sample wokbook clearly showing original data and result you need to obtain?
Do you accept formula only solutions or codes (macro) as well?

Hi Watersev, thanks for the reply. I will post or attach a sample for you asap. I haven't started working on the project yet. I will accept codes but I would prefer formulas.
I will get that sample up shortly.
    Cheers.

Hi watersev (and anyone else who might have a solution).

I've attached a small sample of what the workbook will look like as requested.
Sheets AV, AW & AX refer to rackspaces in our factory where to tools are kept. Sheets labelled Kosdown, MJ, McLaren, Digital Colour etc refer to customers who own the tools.
What I am trying to acheive is that when a new tool is manufactured, used, stored and listed, for example in AV1 which is AV1-Digital Colour- T2 boxes, I need that listing to also appear automatically in the Digital Colour worksheet. The way the listing is formatted is not important. The filing number, customer name and tool description can be seperated by spaces, commas, underscores, whatever. What is important is that each listing uses 1 cell only for search purposes.
I hope someone can shed some light as to whether this can be done.

    Cheers, JLB.

Am I to assume that this can't be done?
