INDEX-MATCH or VLookup for pulling in matching data?

Hi All, quick question for you....

In the file attached, I have five columns.

In Column D, I have the information from Column A, just grouped in bunches alphabetically. What kind of formula can I use (in Column E) to return each corresponding "Area" (from Column B)?
    .
For example, in Column A, "AB" is listed sporadically 21 times, but I want to be able to put in a formula into Column E to return the corresponding "Area" in the exact order it falls under.

For reasons, I can not simply do a manual sort. Thanks for your help!!

    In E2 array formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    and copy right and down

*...confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer.
