associate pictures with items in a list

    Hello everyone.

I was wondering if there is anyway to associate pictures with items in a list. Let me explain a little.

I need to make pictures change according to what the user selects in a list.
Ex: User selects item #1, picture associated to item #1 appears in the top left corner, item#2, picture #2 in top left corner, etc.

I tried using a normal search function but found out you can't associate a picture to a cell (or maybe????) so can't use a search function to associate a picture to the item as I did with the price. Is there any way to do it?

    Edit : Using excel 2007 *

It worked !!! But is there a way to do that twice in the same page?

I have 2 lists using the same lookup table. I was able to make it work with the first list, pictures show up as they should when I chose an item from the list but I would like to do the same thing with a second list that is located on the same page. It uses the same table with the same items and pictures.

If you want to use the same picture take a copy and then rename it.

E.g if the Picture you want to use twice is called Picture 1 then copy it and while selected go to the name box next to the formula bar and change to say Picture 5

Well...any way to make that automatic. I kinda have 100 pictures and won't do that manually everytime the same is used. It has to do it by itself =/

100 pictures may not work with this method I recall.

You can give it a ok thou. I assume your pictures already have names so simply create your table as shown in sheet 2 with the person's name and the picture name. Shouldn't take long

or better still use Ron's code (link 2). Save the pictures in a shared area and then download this add-in to list the picture names

It is already like that. I made a sheet with the name list followed by the image list. Used a look up function to determine wich picture it should show according to what has been chosen in the list. Both list use the same sheet and the same pictures but it just won't show the picture twice if I chose the same item in both lists. See my attachments

Edit : They all display fine on both list. Don't have any problems with the amount I have. It just won't show the first picture if both list have the same item selected.
