Hyperlink to Embedded PDF documents - Please Help!!

    Hello,

I'm have a few issues with my latest crazy excel sheet!

I am trying to achieve a standalone work book for customers that will show a complete service history of there equipment. I have got everything all set I just can't quite complete the last bit!

I have embedded a series of documents in PDF, word and excel (through insert object function) and this gives me an icon for each document. Along side this is a list of dates of visits and documents that correlate to that visit. However the icons are stacking up and getting super messy. What I am trying to achieve is a hyperlink between the embedded document and the visit date so I can hide all the icons for a nice clean speadsheet

    i.e
    A1 would be customer name
A2 would be date of visit
A3 a link to the embedded paperwork regarding the visit that opens automatically if clicked

I can link the document if it is saved externally on my hard-drive but that is useless once it is on a different computer!

Hope that makes sense and someone can crack it as a lot of googleing gave me constant dead ends!

    Thank you kindly,
    David

Would you consider having your documents reside in a drop box folder rather than on your local drive? (you would want to make it a read-only document). This way your links will not break because of a change in location. Also, instead of linking from an icon, I usually highlight the text and link the document to that text.

    I hope this helps.
