Arrow conditional formatting not transferring from 2010 to 2007

    Hi All,

I have made a workbook for my companies clients to use. I made this workbook in excel 2010, but many of them have excel 2007. Therefore i figured i should test it in 2007 before giving it too them all. When doing this i came across a problem in my workbook. Basically i have conditional formatted the cells that the user inputs values in to be highlighted when it is time to input a value in that cell. For example one of my sheets is locked and everything is hidden until the user inputs a value into a highlighted A1, when a value is input into A1 it becomes unhighlighted and the next cell they need to fill in becomes highlighted and so on and so on until they have finished the worksheet. well when i do this in excel 2010 it works, but when i switch to excel 2007 nothing is becoming unhighlighted, it just stays highlighted even though there is a value there. is there some sort of difference in conditional formatting from excel 2010 to excel 2007 that i am not aware of. Thanks in advance for all of the help.

    Hi,

The only CF differences I know of between 2010/2007 are described here.
    http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-...xcel-2010.aspx

Is the cross sheet referencing relevant to your case?

If not from your description it sounds as though perhaps a macro is also involved. Is that the case?
If so is there a cursor move event and if so is the 2007 application set up to move in the same way as 2010? Just a thought.

If neither of these are applicable please upload your workbook.

Richard, Thank you for your help. I do have some macros associated with my workbook but they dont have anything to do with this problem unfortunately. Basically what i am doing is locking every cell on the page except for the ones that the user can input data, when they get on this page there is one question that is showing and a highlighted cell that they can input their data. What i have done is write if statements on every other question that says if the question before it is blank then stay blank, for example.(=if(isnumber(A1),"this would be the question",""). So when they answer the question the next question appears and so on. Along with the question popping up, i have formatted the unlocked answer cell to turn highlighted when there is something in the answer box for the question above, and to turn of the highlight if the question is answered. so basically the questions and highlights are all based one the question above it. The user will just follow the unlocked cells that become highlighted to get to the end of the worksheet. For a few questions i think that i do have a cross sheet reference, but in order for this too work i would have to keep those references, is there any way i can do that. I am sorry but i cannot upload my workbook due to the fact that my company has a policy on that. Let me know if you are not understanding what i am saying and if you can help me out. Again i am sorry for the inconvenience that i can't post it online. Thanks again for the help.
