Can i post an animated gif into an excel workbook?
If i paste it as a picture->file it is simple a stationary gif file
i'd like to use the gif ideally as a commandbutton

I have a workbook with a web browser control that contains an animated gif file.
Right now the animation is playing all the time.
I'd like to find the code to display it (in lieu of a progress indicator) while something else happens and then disable it (or hide it from view) when the other operation completes.
The code is as follows:
I'd also like to know what I have installed that makes this work, that others might not have installed as it works for me but not some other users. They can double click on the GIF file in windows explorer and see the animation but when they open the spreadsheet they get the "page cannot be displayed" message.![]()
