    Exclamation Assign word a value

I'm really desperate right now! I hope you can help me. So, I'm doing a HW about scheduling the thing here is that I want to have the total hrs the employees are working, what I want to do is to write down breakfast (6), lunch (5.5) or dinner (6.5) and then have the amount of hrs they are working. So I want B22 to add all the total hours all my employees worked together...is that possible?

    PLEASE HELP ME!

    Re: Assign word a value

If you really want help, upload a sample workbook, not a screen shot
We can not work with a screen shot, We have no idea what the data looks like, and some of us won't download png files (myself included, mainly because it's a waste of time on my end )

    See signature for upload details
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!
-Add a File - click advanced (next to quick post), scroll to manage attachments, click, select add files, click select files, select file, click upload, when file shows up at bottom left, click done (bottom right), click submit
-To mark thread Solved- go top of thread, click Thread Tools, click Mark as Solved

    Re: Assign word a value

    Try this
I chose the whole range of workers/days, then used this =$A$7:$A$10 for Data Validation source (Note- I added 1 extra cell (a blank) to allow for corrections)
I then used this formula in B22:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    drag across to H22

I then applied conditional formatting so that the cells in b14-h20 would match the highlights from your table

    Hope this helps
