Your formula is perfect and I don't know what is your issue is??
So, that formula work perfect on excel 2003. Thanks.
The issue is, I make this formula on excel 2010, when I save to 2003 with "Compatibility ON"
it's said the formula error and the result will "#NAME".

Even it's working fine for me in excel 2010 with compatible file format![]()
Sorry, I don't mention clearly.
The file before I make a changes, created on excel 2003, then I open it with excel 2010 and make new calculation on cell with that formula.
When I save, it's said the formula will error when it open on excel 2003.
Before this, when i make a changes with formula that has very long checking on one cell, and save it,
it's said if more than 7 nested condition it will error too. But I ignore the message
Off course i know that sum and rounddown exist on excel 2003, but what make me curious are
the short formula like that give me an error message.

SDCh
The above messages are shown due to non availability of that feature in Excel 2003.it's said the formula will error when it open on excel 2003
it's said if more than 7 nested condition it will error too
The #Name error will occur when the function is misspelled Or Defined Name is missing Or UDF is Missing or any unwanted space in the function name Or that functions is not available in the current excel version Or Addin needs to be activated.i know that sum and rounddown exist on excel 200, the short formula like that give me an error message
I am clueless with your situation![]()

1. The function is misspelled --> I don't think so, because on excel 2010, the formula work well.
2. Define Name is missing or UDF is missing --> the file not have any single Define Name or UDF.
3. Any unwanted space in the function name --> like no.1, on excel 2010, the formula work well.
4. that functions is not available in the current excel version --> I know the function exist, what i don't know why error message occur
5. Addin needs to be activated --> just a simple formula and the function already exist on 2003?

No need of the explanation in Post #9 since I already checked everything and that's why I mentioned
I am clueless with your situation![]()

No it is not related to your issue
In Excel 2010 you can refer the other sheets in Data Validation / Conditional Formatting DIRECTLY without the need of NAMED RANGES. Even this feature is not available in excel 2007. So opening the file in earlier versions of excel 2010 will cause error![]()
As i read, the file created from Excel 2003, read on Excel 2010 and see this sentences:
"This makes no sense to me whatsoever. One, the workbook was created in Excel 2003, so obviously we couldn't implement a feature that doesn't exist.
Secondly, the modifications we're making don't involve changing the validation rules at all.
Thirdly, the complaint that Excel is making is incorrect! All of the rules are on the same worksheet as the target"
And for my issue : I work with function that exist on Excel 2003.
So, the problem are same it's because "compatibility checker" although the issue is different

SDCh
Still your problem is not at all related to the thread which you are referring to since the OP has marked the thread as answered by accepting the validation has references to other worksheets without the help of Named Range.
So don't stick with that thread since your's is something different![]()
